1684. Toy stocks in focus- Budget 2025 announces plans to make India toy hub
- In Budget (1 February 2025), Finance Minister of India announced a national action plan to make India a global hub for toy manufacturing. The initiative is created around 22 lakh jobs across the country. Ok Play India’s share price rose by 2.10% to Rs 17, reflecting positive market.
- The government will set up special toy manufacturing clusters and promote skill development to support this vision. the production of eco-friendly and sustainable toys under a recognized Indian brand identity.

1685. Toy story 2.0: Gujarat steps up to play
- Gujarat’s strong plastics and engineering infrastructure has enabled manufacturers like Aditi Toys to expand rapidly (30–40% CAGR). From April onward, these companies are launching exports to the US and Europe, supported by state plans for a dedicated toy park and cluster development.
- States like Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, Maharashtra, and NCR have emerged as major toy-manufacturing canters, with currently 1,400+ toy factories in India holding BIS licenses. Gujarat alone has seen around 100 new toy units set up.

1686. Rs 141.82 crore sanctioned for tribal welfare under DAJGUA: Tripura Minister
- On July 1, 2025, Tripura announced Rs 141.82 crore sanctioned under the Dharti Aaba Janjatiya Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan (DAJGUA) for tribal welfare across 392 revenue villages over five years.

1687. NTPC Green Energy commissions further 64.7 MW Khavda-I Solar PV Project
- On July 1, 2025, NTPC Green Energy declared the final 64.7 MW segment of its massive 1,255 MW Khavda-I Solar power plant is officially operational.

1689. Indian Railways updates tatkal booking: Aadhaar, OTP must from today
- On June 1, 2025, Indian Railways makes Aadhaar authentication mandatory for Tatkal ticket bookings, passengers will also need to verify their identity using an OTP sent to their Aadhaar linked mobile number.
- Reservation charts will now be prepared 8 hours before a train scheduled departure instead of the current 4 hours, helping passengers get earlier confirmation of their booking or waitlist status.
- A slight fare hike will come into effect 1 paisa per kilometer for non AC coaches and 2 paisa per kilometer for AC coaches.
